London police say charges have been laid against the driver of a silver Porsche involved in a series of high-speed crashes along Highbury Avenue in November.
Thirty-one-year-old Cham Phou of London has been charged with: taking a vehicle without consent, leaving the scene of an accident, two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm and two counts of negligence causing bodily harm.
The charges stem from a string of incidents that occurred around midday on Nov. 12, 2012.
Police were called after a southbound Porsche collided with an eastbound Toyota Corolla at Highbury Avenue and Oxford Street.
The Porsche driver did not stop and continued south, crossing into a soccer field on the southeast side of the intersection, then merging back onto Highbury Avenue and continuing southbound.
At Dundas Street, the Porsche collided with the passenger side of a westbound black Chrysler, before leaving the road and hitting two parked vehicles in a lot on the southwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the Porsche had to be extricated from the car and was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger in the Chrysler involved in the second collision, a 65-year-old male driver and 28-year-old female passenger, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Toyota involved in the first collision was not injured.
