An Oshawa man is facing numerous charges following an armed robbery in northeast London.
On Thursday May 29, around 5:30 p.m., a man armed with a gun and accompanied by a woman, forced his way into a Kipps Lane residence after the occupant answered a knock at the door.
An undisclosed amount of cash was obtained and the two suspects fled the unit.
No one sustained any injuries.
A pair of search warrants were executed in Oshawa by Durham-Regional Police, one to a residence and the other to a vehicle.
The suspect was located and arrested.
Jonathan Gingras, 27, of Oshawa was transported to London where he was charged with:
- armed robbery
- using a disguise during the commission of an offence
- carry a concealed weapon
- using a firearm during a commission of an offence
- utter threats to cause death
- break and ente
- forcible confinement
The female suspect has not yet been identified.
The firearm was not located but cash and other evidence were seized.
