A 22-year-old man from North York was arrested by London police Monday after an alleged post on a social media site threatened harm at Western University.

Police say a student posted that he planned to attend the university on Monday with a gun, to cause harm.

Police received the tip from Western campus police that led to the investigation.

They arrested the 22-year-old in relation to uttering threats to cause death. He is in custody.

The investigation is ongoing and police said it is unknown who the intended target(s) were.

University officials say they are cooperating with police and because of the upsetting situation, are offering assistance to anyone who may want to access health services on campus.
