A London professor and a Mount Brydges man have each been arrested and charged following separate luring investigations that began earlier this month.
On Monday, 59-year-old Graham Wagner was arrested after a search of a Heathcote Avenue residence in London.
The search resulted in the seizure of legally owned firearms including a handgun, two shotguns and a rifle. A small quantity of marijuana was also seized.
An internet luring investigation into Wagner’s actions began July 12th.
He has since been charged with:
- two counts of telecommunication with person under or believed under 16 years for specific criminal offences
- two counts of telecommunication with person under or believed under 18 years for specific criminal offences
- four counts of careless storage of a firearm
- possession of a controlled substance
Wagner, a professor at Western University in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, has been suspended pending the outcome of the charges.
On Tuesday, London police were assisted by Strathroy Caradoc police to search a residence on Parkhouse Drive in Mount Brydges.
The search followed a luring investigation that began July 10th.
Based on the evidence found, Alexander Gubbels, 44, has been charged with two counts of telecommunication with person under or believed under 18 years for specific criminal offences and one count of telecommunication with person under or believed under 16 years for specific criminal offences.
