A London man has been found not criminally responsible for the stabbing of his five-year-old daughter last May.

CTV Reporter Nick Paparella tweeted out the court’s decision Wednesday morning that the man was found to be suffering psychosis at the time of the stabbing.

On Tuesday May 19 2015 London police were called to a residence on Applegreen Grove and found a five-year-old female suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police arrested a 38-year-old male on scene and charged him with attempted murder.

On June 3 the young girl was released from hospital.

During court the family of the victim and accused delivered what were described as emotional impact statements.

The man’s wife reportedly said in court that she blamed the mental health system.
