Farm Boy - billed as fresh food shopping - opened its first store in London Thursday, bringing 150 jobs to the city.
The grand opening of the store at 1045 Wellington Road will take place on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.
There will be store samples, supplier demonstrations and facepainting for children.
Farm Boy has 15 locations across Ontario and offers fresh produce, meats, sustainable seafood and artisan cheeses.
It offers gluten-free and organic products, plus locally made food.
Farm Boy CEO Jeff York says there will be more stores coming to the London area.
"So this is kind of our...landmark store. It's the first of many we're going to open in the area. We have two more stores planned for next spring. Then we'll be expanding in Southwestern Ontario - bringing the Farm Boy experience to Southwestern Ontario starting with the biggest city, London."
