Five people are facing numerous charges following a pair of bank robberies last week.
It all began at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 11 when two male suspects armed with a weapon robbed a TD Canada Trust Branch at 1055 Wonderland Road North.
About a half hour later, second robbery was reported at a TD branch at 1420 Ernest Ave.
The suspects’ vehicle was located in the area of Emerson Avenue and police K-9 units tracked and arrested the two male suspects.
Then around 2:00 a.m. on Jan. 12, a woman and three men were arrested after surrendering inside a residence on Emerson Avenue.
The next day, a search warrant was executed at the Emerson address.
Three additional search warrants were executed at other addresses in London, resulting in a list of charges.
Nelson Cruz, 31, is charged with:
• Three counts of armed robbery
• Two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery
• Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000
• Dangerous driving
• Criminal flight from police
• Failing to remain at the scene of an accident
Albert J. Maxwell, 32, is charged with:
• Three counts of armed robbery
• Two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery
• Two counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of an offence
• Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
Zaida Collin, 22, is charged with:
• Three counts of armed robbery
• Two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery
• Two counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of an offence
• Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
Kyle King, 26, is charged with:
• Being an accessory to armed robbery
• Two counts of possession of stolen property less than $5000
Mitchell Riley, 26, is charged with:
• Being an accessory to armed robbery
• Two counts of possession of stolen property less than $5000
Police say one man who was arrested in the area of the suspect vehicle was released without any charges.
Police continue to investigate these robberies and others that have occurred in London over the past couple months.
