OPP recovered the body Wednesday of 15-year-old Peter Hildebrandt, who was pulled under the water while swimming at Port Burwell on Sunday.
The lengthy search involved the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit as well as Elgin County OPP, Central Elgin Fire and Bayham Fire Services.
OPP say Hildebrandt, of Malahide Township, went missing about 5:30 p.m. while swimming with a group of youths by the pier on Port Burwell's main beach. The young people went into a deep section of water when Hildebrandt began to struggle and went under.
The OPP are thanking everyone who helped with the search.
