Anishinabek police, with the help of Lambton County OPP, are investigating what they are calling an attempted murder.
Officers were called to a home on West Ipperwash Road in Kettle Point early Wednesday morning.
According to officials, as a result of the incident one male is being held in custody while another is being treated for life-threatening injuries in a London hospital.
Police were expected to hold the scene for an indefinite period of time.
The investigation is in the early stages and no names have been released.
No additional suspects are being sought, but police are asking anyone with information to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, their nearest police authority or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
