A fire in a transport truck on the 401 near Drumbo has been snarling traffic in the busy corridor.
The truck burst into flames Sunday morning, June 19th, due to an electrical malfunction. It was carrying a load of Cinnabon cinnamon buns. A thick plume of smoke could be seen from many kilometres away. The truck driver was not hurt, as he managed to pull over to the side of the road just as the fire ignited.
The blaze forced the closure of all westbound lanes Sunday morning. One lane was later opened to traffic, but two lanes remain closed and traffic is still backed up for about five kilometres.
