Middlesex County OPP officers say speed was a factor when a 17-year-old male drove a pickup truck off the road near a bridge.

Police were called to a single-vehicle collision on Springbank Road in North Middlesex on Monday at 9:49 p.m.

A brown GMC pick-up truck was northbound on Springbank Road when the vehicle left the roadway near a bridge, say police. The pick-up travelled traveled through a steel guard rail, down the embankment before coming to rest on the vehicles roof at the water’s edge.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life threating injuries.

The 17-year-old male from North Middlesex has been charged with careless driving.
