London police are investigating after three suspicious vehicle fires on Boullee Street in London’s east end overnight.

Police say several 911 calls came in on Thursday around 4:15 a.m. about vehicles parked next to 200 Boullee Street that were on fire.

Emergency services responded and found three vehicles fully engulfed in flames. As a result of the fire, a fourth vehicle sustained some damage as well as the side exterior walls of 200 and 202 Boullee Street.

Leigh Thwaites has lived in the 200 block of Boullee Street for six years and says she’s never seen anything like it.

“[A] police officer came pounding at the door about four in the morning, and I peeked out the door, saw him running across the other doors. I thought it was bomb squad because you could hear all the banging and popping, so I figured if he’s running, I’m running. [I] ran upstairs, got the husband and kids up and took off out the door.”

Damage from the incident has been estimated at around $100,000.

Police say they aren’t sure what accelerant was used to start the fire and they are looking for public assistance to track down those responsible.

For her part Thwaites can’t figure out what would bring someone to it, “Why? It’s just a bunch of families here. Why? It’s just pointless.”
