Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hanover, Dundalk and southern Grey County.

The weather agency said Sunday evening that the storms are capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, it says.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops.
