Communities across the province are joining together in a referendum to save local hospitals.
The volunteer campaign will kick off on Monday at various locations, including in London, in an effort to stop cuts that organizers say have created dangerous overcrowding and understaffing.
The cross-Ontario referendum will be announced at a media event in Toronto and at other locations across the province, including in Ingersoll and Stratford.
Organizers say there have been nine consecutive cuts to hospital budgets, the longest stretch in Ontario history.
There is fear that patients are paying a price for the cuts.
On Monday in London, the kickoff will take place at 4:15 p.m. on the sidewalk near the emergency department entrance, the east side of Victoria hospital.
In Ingersoll, organizers will gather at noon at the Thames Street Gazebo and in Stratford, the kickoff will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of John Street and Cambria Street, near the hospital.
More details about the referendum will be available on Monday.
