Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for the London area, with squalls expected to roll in Tuesday night.
The watch also covers eastern Lambton County, Elgin and Middlesex counties and southern Huron County.
Snow had already coated roads during the Tuesday evening rush hours, and more is expected overnight.
The forecaster says the squall are expected to develop following heavy flurries off Lake Huron that hit the area between Sarnia and Grand Bend through Tuesday afternoon.
Snowfall of 10 to 15 centimetres is expected, with the squalls expected to continue into Wednesday.
Snow squall bands with heavy and blowing snow could bring reduced visibility and 10 to 15 cm of snow in each 12 hour period.
Drivers are reminded that travel may be difficult due to sudden changes and accumulating snow.
