Voting began Monday for a contest that could see a London park win a $250,000 makeover.
White Oaks Park is a finalist to win the grand prize through the Kraft Project Play contest.
Refurbishing the outdoor basketball court in the park was selected as one of the four finalists in the contest.
The winning project will receive $250,000 through an online voting contest.
Voting began Monday at 12 p.m. and will continue until midnight Tuesday.
Over the two days people are encouraged to go to the website and click on the vote button as many times as they’d like. The winner will be announced in the evening of August 21 live on TSN.
“It is always great to see engaged citizens helping to build stronger, more vibrant neighbourhoods throughout London,” said Mayor Matt Brown in a news release. “I encourage all Londoners to show their support and vote for the White Oaks Park basketball court project.”
The plan for London would be to resurface the court, add new rims, as well as trees and an improved garbage collection system.
City officials are also encouraging the public to create a buzz in social media with by mentioning #kpp_whiteoaksball.
Regardless of the outcome though, the park is already a winner since all four finalists get $25,000 in improvements.
