OPP say Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a suspect was injured during an arrest in Corunna on Friday.

Lambton County OPP officers were responding to a break and enter in progress on Paget Street around 3:15 a.m. when the incident occurred.

According to police, they arrived at the scene to find a male attempting to kick in the front door of the residence.

During the suspect's arrest, police say he was injured and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

As a result, the Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate.
