It was an exciting start to the day for an expectant mom - who delivered her new baby girl with the help of Middlesex County OPP and EMS.
Police were called to the Highway 401 westbound on ramp from Elgin Road in Thames Centre around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday for reports of a woman in labour.
Officials say as police arrived to assist with traffic control, Middlesex-London EMS tended to the mother and new arrival at the side of the road.
Both mother and baby were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for follow-up care.
The OPP is thanking all responders for their assistance and teamwork toward a successful outcome.
