Lambton County OPP say a woman’s body found in a woodlot west of Petrolia is that of missing 27-year-old Noelle Paquette.
The death is being called suspicious and the OPP say they will continue to work with the Sarnia Police Service on the investigation.
The body was found around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in a wooded area along Mandaumin Road near Petrolia Line, about 20 kilometres from Sarnia.
Paquette went missing after a New Year’s Eve Party and was last seen walking on Christina Street in downtown Sarnia.
Police say a post mortem is expected to be performed at the London Health Sciences Centre in the next few days.
Mandaumin Road will remain closed indefinitely from Petrolia Line to Rokeby Line as police continue to search for evidence.
