Fire crews battled a blaze Tuesday afternoon at a home in the Old East Village.

The fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. at the back of 765 Princess Ave.

Fire officials say when they arrived heavy smoke and flames were shooting out of the back of the home.

The fire was knocked down fairly quickly.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, but two dogs were rescued from the home and are doing fine.
