Call it the calm before another storm as Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for London and area.

Wind chill values are expected to dip between -25 and -30, along with another 5 to 10 cm of blowing snow.

That is expected to start up sometime late Sunday afternoon and into the evening.

Drivers can expect reduced visibility on area roads and highways.

But all previous highway closures across our region has been lifted.

Meanwhile, OPP responded to more than 1600 collisions on provincial roads and highways since Saturday morning.

Three OPP cruisers were involved in collision in our region.

That included a pair in Oxford County, and another in Chatham-Kent.

In each crash, the cruisers were rear-ended by passing motorists while the officer was parked on the side of the 401.

Thankfully, only minor injures were reported in all three incidents.

Police are asking all motorists to drive with caution regardless of conditions.

Motorists should ensure they have a full tank of gas before venturing out and also carry a survival kit, including food, water, flashlight and a fully charged cell phone.
