Wellington County OPP and the Minto fire department have confirmed that a bridge fire on the walking trail between Palmerston and Harriston was deliberately set.
The incident took place on Aug. 6 around 1:00 p.m. between 3rd Line and the 5th Line, near Wellington Road 5, known as Whites Road.
Firefighters say the bridge sustained severe damage and is no longer accessible to the public.
The damage is estimated to be over $50,000.
