It's been a colder and snowier December than usual for residents in Bruce County and surrounding areas, who are digging out after more winter weather.
Over the past few years there's been more talk about whether there would be a white or green Christmas, but there seems to be no doubt this year.
Lori Donaldson says "I hate winter, but I actually haven't minded so far. I want snow for Christmas and the grandkids."
Though the region has seen worse, snow squalls have made driving treacherous and unpredictable.
That's one reason Don Schmidt has cancelled Bingo in Walkerton Thursday night saying "I believe in weather like this, people are better to stay home, be safe and have a Merry Christmas."
Bad weather blamed for school bus, EMS crashes
Owen Sound police say a collision involving a school bus led to a second crash involving an EMS vehicle on Thursday morning.
Shortly after 8 a.m. a school bus collided with a sedan travelling in the opposite direction in the 400 block of 2nd Avenue West.
The school bus had two students on board, but neither the students nor the bus driver were injured. The driver of the sedan was taken to hospital for minor injuries related to broken glass.
The sedan sustained significant damage to the driver’s side requiring a tow while the school bus sustained minor damage and was driven away.
While responding to the scene an EMS vehicle collided with an SUV vehicle travelling in the opposite direction in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue West.
Neither driver was injured. The SUV sustained significant damage to the driver’s side requiring a tow. Although it could be driven, the EMS vehicle also sustained significant damage.
None of the involved drivers were charged due to extremely poor road conditions attributed to the heavy snow fall.
