Women fighting breast cancer across southwestern Ontario got a big boost from the community during the CIBC Run For the Cure.
It was held in 60 communities across Canada, including London and Windsor.
The London effort raised $820,129, with 240 teams and a total of 3363 runners or walkers.
In Windsor, roughly 1600 participated in this year's event and over $200,000 was raised for the cause.
In 2012, Canadians raised $30 million towards advancements in screening, diagnosis and treatment.
