Police have identified a man wanted in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Jeremy Ryan Cook on Sunday.
Investigators say an arrest warrant, charging Muhab Sultanaly Sultan, 23, of Calgary, Alta. with second degree murder was applied for on Friday.
Officers were called to the area of Highbury Avenue and Huron Street around 5:20 a.m. on Sunday for reports of gunfire.
They found Cook suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cook was led to the area by tracking software he was using to locate his lost cellphone, which he had left in a taxi.
According to police, he and a relative arrived at the scene, but when Cook tried to get his phone from three men in a nearby car, the vehicle began driving away.
Cook then reportedly grabbed the driver's side door and shots were fired, killing him.
Sultan remains at large and police are urging the public not to approach him, but instead to call 911 if they see him.
Police continue to investigate a second suspect, described as a black male with very short hair, wearing a black jacket or shirt and a fitted hat.
Investigators say they are also appealing to a third individual seen exiting the involved vehicle immediately prior to the incident to contact police.
