London city council has approved the 2015 budget, which brings with it a tax hike for residents.
Homeowners will be digging deeper this year to cover tax and water increases to the tune of an extra $118.
Taxes will rise $63 on an average London home assessed at $214,000.
Water and sewer bills will go up another $55.
London's new council spent 25 hours deliberating this year's budget and held many public input sessions.
But while the budget was approved unanimously, there was mixed reaction on council about the result.
"This council worked every day to find savings and efficiencies. When we began we were looking at a 2.9 per cent increase, there were a number of other projects that could have grown the increase to 3.9 per cent. Instead, because of council's hard work, we cut it down to 2.5 per cent," said Mayor Matt Brown in a release.
Councillor Phil Squire says, "Although I supported the budget, it's not a celebration for me because I think with a little work we could have lowered it a bit more."
