Two people were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near London.
Middlesex OPP say at approximately 8:15 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the crash on the 401 east of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway.
A Toyota car was travelling eastbound in the left lane of Highway 401. Police say the car entered into the adjacent eastbound lanes to the south, and struck a Jeep transport truck car carrier, travelling eastbound in the outside lane.
The female passenger of the car had to be extricated from the car by the London Fire Department. She was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The male driver of the car was also transported by ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The male driver and lone occupant of the transport truck was not injured.
The three eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed as a result of the crash. They re-opened at approximately 9:45 a.m.
