TORONTO - The scandal arising from the cancellation of two gas plants prior to the 2011 election dominated campaigning Friday for the June 12th vote.

PC Leader Tim Hudak says answers are needed on the Liberal decisions to cancel the Oakville and Mississauga gas plants at an estimated cost of up to 1.1 billion dollars.

The cancellations returned to the forefront with news the OPP anti-rackets squad is seeking more documents from legislative staff.

Police are investigating the deletion of government emails related to the cancellations.

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says voters are tired of the "stench of corruption" in Ontario and her party is hearing from some traditional Liberal or PC voters who say this time they'll vote NDP.

Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne, meanwhile, is pleading with voters to judge her on her record and campaign platform.

It was under former premier Dalton McGuinty that the Liberal government cancelled the plants in what Wynne admits was a political decision.

She is urging Ontarians to consider how she has handled the scandal, and to focus on the choice they must make about the province's economic future.
