Three new victims have come forward, leading to an additional 26 sex-related charges against 54-year-old Patrick Cayen.
Sarnia police say the former fire chief was arrested Monday morning on the new charges and released on similar conditions as those already in place.
The charges are all sex-related and pre-date those already before the courts, police say.
The three new victims came forward as a result of the ongoing police investigation.
Cayen was initially charged with 28 counts of sexual assault in November in connection with two victims.
A publication ban prevents the release of any additional information related to the charges.
Cayen, who was relieved of his post with Sarnia Fire Rescue Services earlier this month, is set to appear in court again on Tuesday.
