The eastbound lanes of Highway 402 from Front Street to Indian Road in Sarnia have reopened.
The stretch of highway, which is crucial for flow of traffic coming across the border, has been closed since Monday.
The closure was put in place after a transport truck towing a loaded flatbed trailer struck the overpass at Indian road causing “significant structural damage.”
A detour route was put in place starting at the Bluewater Bridge, but has now been removed.
Though the highway is open, the Indian Road overpass is expected to be closed indefinitely.
