A 61-year-old pedestrian sustained a neck injury after getting struck by car in Owen Sound.
Owen Sound police say at about 8 p.m., a pedestrian crossing on a green light at 14th Street and 4th Avenue West was struck by a car.
The 61-year-old Owen Sound man was crossing westbound on the north side of the street.
A vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Owen Sound women travelling in the same direction, proceeded to make a right turn onto 4th Avenue West.
Police say the driver did not see the man and her vehicle struck him, causing him to strike his head.
The man was transported to hospital where he was found to have sustained a fracture to his upper neck.
He was air lifted to London hospital for more specialized care. The man’s injury was deemed serious but not life threatening.
The driver of the vehicle was charged for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
