A Brussels, Ont. man is facing charges after failing to stop for police, fleeing two police pursuits and then crashing into a cornfield.
Huron County OPP say they were contacted by South Bruce OPP to be on the lookout for a Pontiac Grand Prix that fled from officers who ended their pursuit after a short distance.
Around 12:20 a.m. on Friday, Huron County OPP officers spotted the vehicle southbound from Wroxeter on Brussels Line and attempted to stop it, but the driver again fled and the pursuit was called off.
Officers later located the vehicle, which had been involved in a single-vehicle crash, resting in a cornfield near C Line Rd. and McDonald Line.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, who had been partially ejected from the heavily damaged vehicle, was located at the scene.
Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As a result, Anthony Dillon, 29, has been charged with flight from police, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.
He was being held in custody pending a Goderich court appearance on Monday.
The intersection of McDonald Line and C-Line Rd. has been closed for the collision investigation.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is also looking into the incident.
