A major search along the Thames River on Monday for a missing 77-year-old woman has ended after a body was found, police say.
London police add that the identity of the female body has not been confirmed, but the search for Heidi Holm has been called off.
Police had put out a call for public help to find the woman, who was last seen around 11 p.m. on Sunday in the area of Wellington Road and Frank Place.
London police Const. Chris Stumpf says officers were concerned, "Because of her age and for the fact that she's not dressed for the weather. No shoes, even though it's not snowing out, it's still quite cold and she has been missing for approximately 10 hours."
Police also said she was unsteady on her feet and the walker she normally uses had been left behind.
Fire crews and police could be seen searching the south branch of the Thames River, working their way westward from Watson Park through the Forks of the Thames for much of the afternoon.
The search on the water was called off as darkness fell Monday evening after crews reached the area of Riverside Drive and Wonderland Road.
Police had also canvassed door to door in the area of Frank Place through the day.
The London Police Major Crime Section and the Coroner’s office are continuing their investigation.
