A seven-hour standoff didn't get police their man, but it didn't take long to track him down.
London police took 52-year-old Carl James Smith into custody around 8 p.m. Monday evening.
Just after 5 a.m., police were called to a McNay Street home after a neighbour reported hearing a woman screaming.
Police believed there was a man still inside the home and the concern was that he might have access to a gun.
Around the noon hour police were able to enter the home, but there was no one inside.
James was arrested without incident on Lyman Street, not far from McNay.
He faces charges of assault, uttering death threats, and forcible confinement.
