An investigation is underway after the body of a 76-year-old man was pulled from a pond in Wellington North Township.

Emergency crews responded to a call around 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon on Concession 2, southeast of Mt. Forest.

It was reported that a lawn mower had crashed into the pond with no sign of the operator.

After partially draining the pond, the body of the man, George Sauder of Mapleton Township, was found and pulled from the water.

A post mortem was expected to be conducted Friday, but OPP say the death is not considered suspicious.
