Youths allegedly assaulted after petting cat in Port Stanley

A man is facing charges in Elgin County after allegedly assaulting some youths on Saturday.

According to police, officers were called to Colonel Bostwick Road in Port Stanley around 9:30 p.m. Three male youths told police they were petting a cat on a sidewalk when a man came outside and began yelling and then assaulted them.

A 53-year-old Port Stanley man has been charged with two counts of assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court in February to answer to the charges.
