The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is investigating a suspicious fire in Otterville.
Around 1:50 pm.m Wednesday, emergency crews were called to a house fire on John Street in Otterville.
A passerby noticed smoke coming from the building and called for help.
The homeowner was not at home during the fire and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious at this time.
Damage is estimated between $30,000 and $40,000.
