Most of the community of Shakespeare lost power Monday afternoon due to a collision involving a hydro pole.

The collision brought police and firefighters to a section of Perth Road 107, between Shakespeare and Tavistock, shortly after 4:15 p.m.

According to authorities at the scene, a tractor had hit the pole

The collision severed the pole from its base, and left it leaning against the tractor.

No injuries were reported.

By 5:30 p.m., Hydro One was reporting that approximately 250 people were without electricity.

All of them were expected to have their hydro restored by 7:30 p.m.
