London police have arrested a 22-year-old man after the apparent attempted abduction of a five-year-old girl.
Around 5 p.m. Sunday, an unidentified man on roller blades was seen taking the hand of the girl and appeared to try and lead her away from the Gibraltar Trade Center on Dundas Street, say police.
He let her go when confronted by people in the area and headed of west along the north side of Dundas Street on roller blades.
A witness managed to snap a picture before the suspect left the scene and that picture was distributed by police.
A short time later, police arrested 22-year-old Jeremy Sippel of London.
The man has been charged with possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon, but police say those charges relate to the arrest and that no weapon was used during the incident at Gibraltar.
The circumstances around the reported abduction attempt are still under investigation.
