London police provide update to two recent shootings

London police provided an update to media Wednesday regarding two recent shooting incidents, one on Simcoe Street in November, and another at London Health Sciences Centre on Dec. 14. 

Both incidents are still under investigation, but police also said Wednesday that one person has been arrested so far, in relation to the Simcoe Street occurrence.

Nicholas Traviss, 28, from London has been charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Break, enter and commit
  • Discharge firearm with intent to wound/endanger life or prevent arrest

Police are still looking for two people as it relates to the Simcoe Street investigation.

Suspect 1

  • Indigenous man
  • 25-35 years old
  • Larger build
  • Average height
  • Wearing a black or dark navy “Jordan” hooded sweater, black pants and grey running shoes with white laces and white soles
  • Black facial hair on his chin and a thin black moustache

Suspect 2

  • White man
  • 25-35 years old and walks with a slight lean to his right
  • Wearing grey jeans with red markings on the inside of the pant legs below the knee, a black jacket with red inner lining and black high-top sneakers

Also on Wednesday, police released additional images of a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting at LHSC.

It's described as a four-door 2018 or 2019 Hyundai Sonata, grey or silver in colour, with a sunroof.

Anyone with dash-cam footage or video surveillance in the areas of White Oaks and Southdale roads or Commissioners Road East and Wellington Road between 2:10 a.m. and 2:35 a.m., on Dec. 14, or information that can assist with the investigation, is asked to contact police.

This article originally stated these two shootings were connected, however, CTV News has learned they are being treated by police as separate incidents.
