A beekeepers' group has sent Premier Kathleen Wynne a letter urging her to take action to protect bees.

The Ontario Beekeepers' Association is demanding the government suspend use of a neonicotinoid pesticide that is believed linked to mass killings of bees.

The open letter is signed by 36 organizations representing beekeeper organizations, farm groups and environmental advocates.

The group's president Dan Davidson says he's heard from dozens of Ontario beekeepers who have suffered losses due to the indiscriminate use of the pesticide.
