London police say there will be strict enforcement to help maintain safety during the influx of alumni for Western University’s homecoming festivities this weekend.
Officials say they will be deploying additional and focused resources to help ensure a safe environment.
In addition criminal, provincial and municipal laws will be strictly enforced.
Richmond Street between Oxford Street and Dufferin Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. on Sunday.
Police hope this will enhance pedestrian safety in the restaurant and bar district, which is expected to be very busy.
Taxi stands will be available at the north and south ends of the closure and on the east side of Richmond Street at Central Avenue.
