The North Perth Fire Department is investigating a blaze that destroyed a home in Listowel, Ont.
Perth County OPP officers called the fire department to the house at 433 Inkerman Street at 3 a.m. Thursday. Officers saw smoke and flames coming from the residence and it appears the fire started at the rear of the house..
The male resident of the home was found outside by police. He confirmed no one else was inside the residence. Police say the fire completely destroyed the home.
Inkerman Street West between Barber Avenue North and Victoria Avenue North was closed to traffic as a result of the fire.
The Fire Marshal's Office has been called in to investigate.
