A 49-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation is facing multiple charges after striking a hydro pole and fleeing the site of a collision.

On the evening of Dec. 29, police say they responded to a collision on Bodkin Road for the report of a driver’s failure to remain at the scene of a single vehicle collision.

Patrols near the area of the collision located the vehicle on Pheasant Drive. The driver was then arrested and transported to an OPP detachment.

The driver was charged with failure to stop after an accident, impaired operation, use of a plate not authorised for the vehicle, driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available and more.

Police remind the public that if you suspect that a driver is impaired, you should contact police. OPP can be reached at 1-888-310-1122.
