A London woman has been charged after she was involved in four separate collisions involving three other vehicles and a pole on Monday evening, while her four-year-old son was in the backseat.
Police were initially called to Hyde Park Road and Prince Phillip Drive around 5:30 p.m. about a possible impaired driver after a vehicle remained stopped at a green light.
Shortly afterward the vehicle rear-ended three others and then fled the scene at three separate intersections:
- Hyde Park Road and Oxford Street
- Riverside Drive and Sanatorium Road
- Hyde Park Road and Gainsborough Road
Finally the driver left the road and hit a pole at Gainsborough Road and Aldersbrook Road, again fleeing the scene.
The vehicle was stopped by an off-duty police officer at Aldersbrook Road and Gablewood Road.
There were no injuries, but damage is estimated around $7,700, with the majority of the damage to the suspect’s vehicle.
Charges against 38-year-old Nancy Kelly include impaired operation of a motor vehicle and three counts of failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
