There's less than 48-hours to go, and the influx of athletes and fans has begun as London prepares to host the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships.
It's the biggest sporting event in the city's history.
Bill Bolland, Volunteer Co-ordinator for the event said the city's performance in past events is what helped bring the Championships here.
"We've done the 2005, 2010 Canadian Figure Skating Championships. And also the synchro international championships in 2007. And the volunteer group force, I mean, they're experienced, they're passionate, they're more than willing. I mean, to give you an example, we had to shut off the volunteer nominations and requests and applications early because we had so many," he said.
There are more than 540 volunteers all performing various roles, such as Fanshawe College Concierge program students who will be greeting visitors at the London Airport and even volunteers who will collect all gifts for the performers that rain down on the ice.
CTV London will have complete coverage of the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships, both on and off the ice throughout the week.
