The St. Thomas Police Service has arrested an 18-year-old resident following an incident on Wednesday night.

Around 9:15 p.m., police were called to find the suspect, who reportedly left their home after stealing beer. A news release said this was contrary to a court ordered curfew and probation order.

The STPS found the suspect in the 500 block of Talbot Street. Police said the person started resisting arrest, punching an officer in the face while allegedly kicking and spitting on officers.

The 18-year-old now faces five counts of failure to comply with probation, resisting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer, theft under $5,000 and person under 19 years old having liquor.
