A Woodstock police officer is facing sexual assault and voyeurism charges following an investigation by London police.

On Feb. 8, London police started an investigation involving an officer of the Woodstock Police Service who allegedly possessed a video that could be a criminal offence.

A search warrant was executed and a video was seized, resulting in five charges:

• 3 counts of Sexual Assault (adult females)

• 2 counts of Voyeurism

Police say the alleged offences occurred between 2009 and 2011, before he was hired as a police officer.

The investigation concluded on March 7, 2016 with one additional charge of Obstruct Justice.

Const. Robert Douglas Barber, 26, will appear in court on March 22.

London police are conducting the investigation because Barber lived in London at the time of the alleged crimes.
