Woodstock police are asking for the public's help in connection with a hit and run collision.

Police say a GMC Terrain SUV pulling an enclosed trailer was being driven in the area of Springbank Avenue and James Street in the city around 3 p.m. Wednesday when it was struck by another vehicle.

The driver of the SUV was attempting to reverse out of the scrap metal yard located at that intersection.  Two north bound vehicles on Springbank Avenue stopped, blocking both northbound lanes, to allow the trailer and vehicle to enter the roadway.

A late 1990s silver Oldsmobile Alero drove around the two stopped vehicles and struck the vehicle and trailer.

The Alero then fled the scene onto James Street. The driver of the Alero is described as a younger female with blond hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-537-2323.
