Provincial police are asking for public help to locate a woman who has been wanted by police for nearly 20 years.
Cheryl Gannon, now 55, is wanted by OPP on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of parole.
The warrant was issued in 1998 when Gannon was a 37-year-old, first-time federal offender serving a three-year sentence for various offences including theft and fraud.
Her practice - which included her son - had reportedly been to pose as an apartment-hunter or the victim of a car breakdown.
She would ask to use a homeowner's phone and then steal wallets and purses, or her son would ask to use the washroom and do the same.
An additional warrant was issued by the London Police Service in May 2003 for offences including uttering death threats and mischief under $5,000.
In that case, the charges stemmed from Gannon reportedly threatened to kill her ex-boyfriend and destroy his property, while she was on parole.
The OPP's Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad says an investigation has revealed Gannon is believed to be living under an assumed name and has been known to frequent London, Woodstock, Belleville, Oshawa, Sault Ste. Marie, and Kingston.
According to the RCMP, she has been known to use a long list of aliases including, Cassandra Blackwood, Cheryl Hann, Cheryl Vandergott, Cheryl Ellen Gannon, Cheryl Ellen Leenders and others.
Gannon is described as white female, about 5'6" tall.
Crime Stoppers-London/Elgin/Middlesex is offering a reward of $500 for tips leading to her arrest.
